Ashley and Justin [Columbia, SC Wedding Photographer]

I’m excited to share a few of my favorites from Ashley and Justin’s Wintergreen Woods wedding. This was my first time shooting at the venue, and I loved it. The ceremony location is just so pretty, all surrounded by flowers and greenery. Ashley and Justin were adorable and seemed totally relaxed all day. I love the image of Ashley and her bridesmaids practicing the dance to Party Rock Anthem while they’re getting ready. And yes, they busted it out during the reception…and it was fantastic. Congrats, guys!

And be sure to check out their engagement story on PoptheQ!

Today, I’m excited to share Amber and Levi’s beautiful Savannah wedding. Held at the Trustee’s Garden downtown, the couple incorporated all sorts of great details, from button bouquets from Etsy, to owls decorating the reception, to an old-school Nintendo set up in the back room that matched the groom’s cake. And you know I’m all for a couple that walks back down the aisle to the Mario theme song! :) Here are just a few of my favorites from their day.

I’ve mentioned before how much I love it when my brides have babies. I shot Emma and Chris’s Beaufort wedding before I started this blog, so to give you an idea of how adorable and in love they were on their wedding day, I’ve included a few photos of their album.

Now imagine how happy I was to hear that they’d had a little boy. :) I met Grey and we did some family portraits in downtown Beaufort just before Christmas. Isn’t he cute?

John Got Married!

The problem with blogging in chronological order…and being behind on it…is that it has delayed this very happy announcement.

In the five years that I’ve been shooting weddings, if I’ve shot yours, there’s a 99% John was shooting with me. On December 10, 2011, John married the most amazing girl and moved to Toronto. I miss him like crazy, especially now that wedding season is picking up, but I can’t deny, he looks pretty happy:

While he’s not shooting weddings with me anymore, he is still shooting. Right now he’s focusing on some amazing street photography a la Henri Cartier-Bresson. Follow his blog at www.johnbarduhnblog.com to keep up with him. :)

Congrats John and Tina!

As promised, here are just a few of my favorite images from Kerry and Chris’s Tybee Island wedding. They really thought of every detail and it made for a beautiful day. I have to say, I was most impressed by their first dance. That definitely made me want to take shag lessons. :) Congrats you guys!

I get to show this next wedding in two posts. Today, we have Kerry and Chris’s lovely Tybee Island rehearsal dinner. If you follow the blog, you might remember them from their super cute engagement session with their pup. The rehearsal dinner was held at the Tybee Island Shrine Club. I’d driven by it before, but never knew it was a venue for events. And what a gorgeous venue it was, with views of the lighthouse and the ocean at sunset. The details and scenery were gorgeous, but the real treat was seeing the bride- and groom-to-be. They just radiated happiness and excitement. And with the beautiful wedding to come the next day, it’s no surprise. Stay tuned, their wedding will be up for all to see in tomorrow’s post.

Apparently, not everyone was feeling the bagpipes:

Julianne and Ronnie’s sweet wedding is up on the blog today. The ceremony was beautiful. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the group after Julianne’s brother walked her down the aisle and toasted her at the reception. And what a reception it was! A beautiful tent with chandeliers, sofas, even an ice cream bar (all coordinated by Amanda Rose Weddings). And most importantly, a group of people making full use of the dance floor.  These are just a few of the shots I wanted to share.

I’m about to overshare some photos, because this wedding was absolutely gorgeous. Not only was the attention to detail amazing and the overall effect stunning, she and Geoff are so sweet together. So here are just a few of my favorites from their day.

Next wedding up on the blog…Jessie and Chester. They were  so much fun to work with. The wedding was beautiful, down to the last detail, courtesy of Amanda Rose Weddings. But what struck me the most was how much Jessie and Chester really embraced the day. From the emotional toasts to dancing in the rain at the reception, they were in the moment the whole way through. Such a joy to photograph! :)

After some dancing in the rain, everyone moved inside to warm up. This is the best way I know to warm up:

As you can tell, I had a break from weddings in the late summer, while people were just trying to stay cool in the South Carolina weather, but things picked up in a big way in September and October…starting with Heather and Chad’s amazing elopement in Hilton Head. They originally planned to do a big wedding, but as things progressed, it just got to be too much. So they scrapped those plans and instead got married with just their families in attendance at the Main Street Inn in Hilton Head.

While I love shooting big weddings, there is just something about the intimacy of an elopement like this that’s so sweet and fun to photograph.  Check out just a few of my favorites from their big day.
