As promised, here are a few of my favorite images from the Dunbars’ maternity session in November.

We’ve finally made it to November shoots! And I started the month with Dyanna and Kevin’s lovely maternity shoot in Forsyth Park in Savannah. As we were shooting, I asked them how they met, and they laughed. It seems they knew each other (but didn’t date) when they were younger, then they reconnected online while Kevin was deployed. They got married, then he deployed again, and then they got pregnant…and at the time of the shoot, he was preparing to deploy again. Kevin told me that their joke is that when he gets back, they’ll finally date. :)

I may have mentioned this before, but my neighborhood boasts some pretty gorgeous moms and babies. I was so excited to do Katharine’s maternity shots and (not too long after) Evie’s newborn shots. Just look how pretty they both are! And we had a cameo appearance by McLean, too!

As you can tell by the clothing, I’m still catching up on my September posts. :) Meet the Zaepfel family. We did a family portrait and maternity shoot in one, and got the best of both worlds. These are a few of my favorites from the session.

Meet April and Brandon, who are expecting Brandon, Jr. very soon. :) Brandon deployed just a few days after this shoot, so I’m so glad we were able to do the maternity shots together before he left. The biggest thing April asked about when she scheduled her shoot was whether we could shoot near water. So after a little time in the studio, we headed out to Mett’s Landing in Lexington, SC to grab shots in the Saluda River. And then for good measure, came back to take a few shots in the pool. I can’t wait to do Brandon, Jr.’s newborn portraits!

This was one of the most laid back families I think I’ve ever shot with. They were game for anything…even the muggy July morning weather in Savannah. :) We kicked around Forsyth Park for a bit, then hit a few squares, and came back to the park to finish up. Amelia, Dana’s four-year-old, garnished her mom’s belly with flower petals. I think she might be an art director in the making. :)

I’m so happy to share these photos. I’ve known Melanie pretty much all my life, and it’s so exciting to see her prepare for the arrival of Isabelle. In just a few weeks, she’ll be here, and it’ll be time for newborn portraits!

It’s convention time again! Except this time, instead of brides, I’ll be meeting and greeting expectant mothers at Palmetto Health’s Oh, Baby! Convention. If you or someone you know is expecting, send them to Oh, Baby! for a chance to sit in on brief educational sessions, talk one-on-one with health experts, shop with favorite local vendors and see the latest maternity and baby fashion during the Haute Mama Fashion Show. Hope I’ll see you there!

April and Mike were my neighbors in Lexington before they had to move to Greenville for work. Great move for them, tragic for those of us at the Saluda River Club who miss hanging out with them all the time. I was very flattered that they came back to Columbia to shoot April’s maternity portraits here with me! I’m so excited for them and for Hudson’s arrival.

Fun story….Bridget and Jeff were my very first wedding clients. We’d been friends since high school, and they took a chance on a photographer with no wedding experience and trusted me with their big day.

Since then, we’ve had a lot of opportunities to shoot together. I photographed Bridget’s grandparents’ 50th anniversary, and Bridget has modeled for stock and fine art projects for me.

So when they called to tell me they were expecting, I couldn’t wait to do Bridget’s maternity portraits. Here are just a few of my favorites.

Congrats you guys! I can’t wait to take newborn portraits of Elliot! :)
