I get to show this next wedding in two posts. Today, we have Kerry and Chris’s lovely Tybee Island rehearsal dinner. If you follow the blog, you might remember them from their super cute engagement session with their pup. The rehearsal dinner was held at the Tybee Island Shrine Club. I’d driven by it before, but never knew it was a venue for events. And what a gorgeous venue it was, with views of the lighthouse and the ocean at sunset. The details and scenery were gorgeous, but the real treat was seeing the bride- and groom-to-be. They just radiated happiness and excitement. And with the beautiful wedding to come the next day, it’s no surprise. Stay tuned, their wedding will be up for all to see in tomorrow’s post.

Below are a few of the photos of John Constantine’s christening at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Columbia. It was my first experience photographing a service at a Greek Orthodox Church and I really enjoyed it. They seem to have a great sense of family and community, and as an added bonus, they didn’t have the strict rules on photography that many churches do. I think the combination of happy people and free movement led to some great shots!

In a move that will strike you as funny if you know how Get Pic’d got started, I’m featured on the Get Pic’d blog today.
Get Pic’d is a company that hosts singles events during which participants get updated (and retouched) profile pictures to use on online dating websites, such as Match.com or eHarmony. The company will host parties in multiple cities, and a local photographer in each city runs the franchise. I’m the Columbia area photographer, and soon my friends Katie Anderson and Melissa Williamson will be hosting their first events in Atlanta and Athens, respectively.
My first event is this Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14) at Wild Wing Cafe in the Vista. We’ll be there from 7-10pm enjoying wings and drinks and taking flattering profile pics. On January 12, South Carolina swore in new constitutional officers with snow on the ground. I had the pleasure of photographing the event for the new treasurer, Curtis Loftis. We did a combination of family photos, documentation of the event, and behind-the-scenes shots of the “Meet and Greet” held in the Treasurer’s Office afterward. It was an exciting and busy day for Mr. Loftis. Below are just a few of the images.
